The Alien Seeker NewsTwo sightings of mine, which are no biggies, but part of what has shaped I helped me to have an open-mind to all possibilities and realities.
I have a very vivid memory of a sighting that took place when I must have been only about 4 or 5 years old. I can recall sitting in the front seat of my dad's car seated in the middle, in-between my dad and my brother. It was a completely clear day with blue skies. I remember us being park and my dad was looking out his side window and toward the front of the car looking up in the sky. I remember my sister lending over from the back seat trying to see out also. I was leaning forward and looking up though the windshield and slightly to the left part of the sky where there was this metallic saucer shaped disc just sitting in the sky.
What seemed strange to me is that my mother was not there. Back then the whole family would be together when riding in the car. I also don’t remember anyone talking or saying anything, but we were all just fixated on the object in the sky. I grew up most of my life being estranged from my family and the times we had gotten together this memory had never come to mind to ask any of them if they remembered this incident.
The other sighting took place during one of the biggest UFO flaps in US history, which occurred in 1966 and was centered around Ann Arbor, Michigan. I lived about 50 miles northeast of Ann Arbor and was fascinated with these sightings that were making headlines in the newspaper just about everyday for about a week. I recall reading stories where people were reporting a UFO and the police were sent out to investigate sightings when they would encounter one themselves with it hovering right above the police cruiser. I can even remember reading where some people were so afraid that they were moving from the area. The newspaper printed that the US government was sending someone from Washington to investigate. Years later I understood that this was Project Blue Book and the investigator was the now famed Dr. J. Allen Hynek. I am sure you heard the phrase “Swamp Gas”; will this was the first time it was used. Project Blue Book, as we know now was a cover to mislead the public to the reality to what was going on. Dr. Hynek had arrived in the area and the first thing I remember reading in the newspaper was that Mr. Hynek’s statement was claiming that what people were actually seeing was nothing more then “swamp gas’. This of coarse outraged the public, but the Government was use to lying by this time about UFOs and their only care was not to convince the people who were actual witnesses, but to get the story out to the rest of the populace so that it could be quickly dismissed.
Well to get to my sighting, which was short, but I felt a need to provide a little history to where and when this sighting took place. As I had said, I was very fascinated reading all I could in the newspaper about these UFOs, in fact this was what really started my interest since I had not remembered the first sighting at this time, that had taken place in my dad’s car. After reading these stories everyday in the newspaper I would sit outside every night, laying on a lawn chase looking up at the night sky. One night it got pretty late so I went in to go to bed, but still hoping to see something I laid in bed looking up at the night sky though my bedroom window. It was then I saw this large radish-orange glowing object fly across my visual path, which lasted for only about 15 seconds before moving out of my sight. The size, from my perspective, was about the size of a full moon. It was flying completely horizontal and was not at a downward path as a falling object would be.
